Citations to BibTeX converter

Here you can find a small piece of program that converts some citation files to BibTeX format, written mainly for personal usage. It currently works only for JSTOR and ScienceDirect files, as I have only needed these so far.

Citation file:
* The result is plain text file that you can download. Comments and feedback are welcome .
Update: This page has lost its practical value (at least for me), as since Nov 2004, there exists much better alternative that does this and much more: http://www.citeulike.com. I guess the basic usage of it should be something like the following:
  • Find an interesting article from JSTOR, ScienceDirect, or elsewhere. NB! You need to have subscriptions.
  • Add it to the database by pressing bookmarklet button (more information). The page opens where you can add some tags or keywords (for example "bargaining" and "microeconomics").
  • After saving the page, you are back on the article page and can continue research. Whole process of adding an article to database takes about 10 seconds and the possibility for errors decreases close to zero.
  • You can go to your page and check all the microeconomics, bargaining or other articles, also the articles added by others etc. There is also commenting system with public or private comments, RSS feeds etc.
  • And of course, at the end, you can save your BibTeX file, and use it in your article.

An example of a reading list of macroeconomics articles. It is created automatically and could be perfect solution for example for a course homepage (has links to original articles):
